Description

Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) registered nurse position is located in San Jose, California. This role involves providing specialized postoperative recovery care to patients in a hospital setting. The nurse will be responsible for assessing, monitoring, and managing patients following surgical procedures, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes.

Job Details:

Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
- One-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Valid registered nurse license in the state of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
- Procedural Sedation Competency
- Minimum of two (2) years of critical care experience with adult patients, preferably in Post Anesthesia Care Unit environment
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical care experience with pediatric patients in ER, ICU, or PACU environment
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Procedural Sedation in outpatient settings
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in pain management injection procedures
Additional Information:
- The position requires adherence to facility protocols and SOPs.
- Clinical responsibilities include patient assessment, vital monitoring, medication administration, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe recovery from anesthesia.
