Job Summary

Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing advanced perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing a variety of complex surgical procedures, including kidney transplants, robotic surgeries, hysterectomies, and urological interventions. The position requires clinical expertise, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to coordinate care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: RN License, BLS certification (American Heart Association), 2 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years in the operating room specialty.
  • Certifications: Valid RN license, BLS certification.
  • Skills: Abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, administration of blood and blood products, anterior/posterior repair (Colporrhaphy), code response procedures, cystectomy, cystoscopy, usage of Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, fire safety, general operating room procedures, gynecologic robotic surgery, infection control measures, kidney surgeries, laparoscopic assisted procedures, laser safety, latex allergy awareness, management of malignant hyperthermia, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, specimen handling and labeling, transurethral resection of the prostate, trauma protocols, universal protocol (time out), urinary bladder catheterization, urologic robotic surgery.
  • Patient Demographics: Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • Additional Job Requirements: Must have experience with robotic surgical systems, complex urology and gynecology cases, and a minimum of two years of acute care experience in the relevant specialty within the last three years.
  • Location: 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792
  • Travel Requirements: Travelers are required to float as needed and must be located at least 50 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted.
  • Testing: Pass/Fail telemetry exam with strict criteria; two attempts will be permitted. A certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course is required if failing the second attempt.
