Job Details

• Position: Hospice Care Nurse - Home Healthcare - South Portland, ME
• Schedule: Dayshift, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days, with weekend and on-call rotation, business hours 8 AM to 5 PM. Shifts are typically 4 days per week, with occasional support in other agency locations depending on census.
• Required Qualifications: RN licensure for the State of Maine, BLS certification, valid drivers license, and own vehicle. One year of hospice experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted only if they have hospice experience.
• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Oncology, Dementia/Alzheimers, end-stage CHF/COPD, neurological conditions such as ALS, MS, Parkinsons.
• Certifications: RN license, BLS.
• Support and Equipment: Support from clinical management team, use of electronic medical records via Netsmart, provided IV pumps, and potential floating support to other agency locations if census requires.
• Orientation: 1-2 weeks.
• Call Requirements: Overnight from 5 PM to 8 AM, typically once or twice a month, possibly more depending on staffing needs.
• Holiday Expectations: Will be required if the assignment aligns with major holidays (e.g., New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
