Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Mckeesport, Pennsylvania. The RN maintains the delivery of quality patient care by following the nursing care plan, supervising ancillary nursing personnel, and collaborating with the healthcare team. This role emphasizes safety, patient education, and efficient clinical operations to support patient recovery and well-being.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only). Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience highly desired. No minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Progressive Care or similar unit is preferred but not mandatory.
• Additional Information: Performs comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to identify education needs and discharge planning. Maintains accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses. Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, with a focus on patient education and safety. Participates in team activities to promote a positive work environment. Carries out charge responsibilities following orientation and actively pursues professional development through continuing education. Ensures safety policies are adhered to, including safe patient handling and infection control standards.
