Job Summary
The profession is Medical Surgical Nurse. This position is located in Louisville, Kentucky. The role involves providing care to patients primarily with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, burns, pediatric conditions, and multiple trauma cases. The clinical team manages a high-acuity environment on a 23-bed neuro medical surgical unit with an emphasis on acute care, utilizing advanced technology and adherence to established protocols.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, with a rotating schedule cycle of every 6 weeks.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, at least 1 year of experience in high-acuity rehabilitation or medical surgical nursing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilator management, central lines, wound care, TPN, and pulmonary patients with Trachs or laryngectomies.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within scope of practice, mainly utilizing a dedicated float pool.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes online sessions, NVCI in-person training, and in-person facility orientation. The unit values an accepting culture with the expectation that travelers adhere to same standards as staff. Scrub color is galaxy blue; parking is free with badge access; back-to-back holiday coverage may be required.
