Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry at a healthcare organization in Wichita, Kansas. This position involves providing comprehensive med/surg and oncology nursing care on a tele unit, with a strong emphasis on team collaboration and patient-centered care. The role supports a dynamic team environment in a top-rated facility, focusing on delivering high-quality care to diverse patient populations during night shifts.

Job Details:

Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Current registered nurse license in Kansas, minimum of 1-year current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience; certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required, chemo certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications: Certification in chemotherapy administration; experience with electronic medical records (Meditech system); oncology care experience is advantageous
Typical Procedures: Standard medical surgical care, chemotherapy administration
Personality Fit: Positive attitude, team-oriented approach
Unit Guidelines/Policies: Chemotherapy can only be hung and handled by chemo-certified nurses; VS performed every 8 hours, remote tele patients require VS every 4 hours; the unit operates under a primary nursing care model
Additional Information: The unit functions as a remote tele and oncology care unit, supported by a strong charge nurse team and a positive work environment. The facility is recognized as a top 100 hospital nationally and a Magnet-designated organization. Nurses utilize an iPhone-based nursing communication system to facilitate instant communication within the care team.
