Description
Job Summary:
Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) in Seward, Alaska. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a long term care facility serving adult and geriatric patients. The role requires prior travel experience, Alaska licensure, and flexibility to work rotating shifts on a 12-hour schedule. The assignment is available for either 13 or 26 weeks, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.
Job Details:
- Location: Seward, Alaska
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/25/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska State license in hand, 2 years of experience in long term care, BLS certification, and LTC experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior long term care experience, trauma level II experience, and community hospital experience.
- Certifications: BLS, Alaska Food Worker Certification (obtained onsite during orientation, one-time fee of $10)
- Skills: LTC experience, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care, respiratory treatments, Accuchecks, implanted glucose sensors, PEG tube feedings, Duopa pumps, IV hydration, lab draws, peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous), vital sign monitoring, pacemaker transmitter, EKGs.
- Floats within scope: Yes, flexible to meet facility needs.
- Additional Information:
- RTO Restrictions: No more than 2 weeks considered for 26-week contract; no more than 1 week for 13-week contract.
- Holidays: Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years); RTO requests must be included at submittal.
- Transportation: Facility arranges rental vehicle; candidate must provide drivers license and proof of insurance. Vehicle use is limited to town and within 30 miles of the facility.
- Hep B Vaccines: Only Hep B vaccines accepted; documentation required upon signing, or candidate must be willing to receive vaccination.
- References: Two references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years, LTC experience preferred.
- Additional Requirements: Must meet mile radius rule (50 miles from the facility) and submit required documentation within specified timeframes to avoid contract cancellation.
