Job Summary:
Cardiac Renal Unit Medical Surgical with Telemetry Registered Nurse - Days - Evansville. This position involves providing high acuity care within a specialized medical-surgical unit that emphasizes telemetry. The role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment. The nurse will deliver patient-centered care, manage complex cardiac cases, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a teaching hospital setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, 36 hours guaranteed per week, starting on 08/24/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS, a minimum of 2 years of experience in strong Cardiac/Telemetry care, experience in one travel assignment, trauma level II experience, recent EPIC charting experience (will require a checkoff class).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience interpreting 12-lead EKGs, ability to pass tele-test requirements, proficiency in initiating and titrating drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino acids), and managing invasive devices such as chest tubes and nephrostomy tubes.
• Additional Information: The unit has 41 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 during days. The unit is known for excellent staff retention and experienced team members. The position may involve precepting students or new-hires and may require adherence to specific uniform policies. Cross-campus float within skillset may be required with a two-hour notice. No Covid-19 vaccine requirement currently, but subject to change.
• Float: Float within skillset including cross-campus float to nearby facilities, with a two-hour notice period.
• On Call/Call Back Requirement: Not applicable.
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule, and every other holiday.
