Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery High Risk Nurse - Nashville, Tennessee. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-risk obstetrics (OB) unit, focusing on antepartum and labor and delivery cases. The role requires skilled assessment and intervention in complex obstetric situations, including caring for patients undergoing c-section, magnesium drips, and other high-risk procedures.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts totaling 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 1 year of experience in labor and delivery, high-risk antepartum care, c-section procedures, magnesium drip management; Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and affiliation with the Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience circulating patients during cesarean sections, maternal and fetal assessments, and familiarity with obstetric emergencies.
- Additional Information: Covering a unit with 25 beds and patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 6:1. The environment includes documentation systems such as Connect and Expanse, with unit-specific policies in place. Floating policies apply across obstetric emergency, mother-baby, and labor and delivery units. Responsibilities include conducting vaginal deliveries, bereavement care, and managing high-risk pregnancy situations.
