Job Summary
The Operating Room (OR) Nurse position is located in Chicago, Illinois, within a facility that houses a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role involves providing perioperative care in a surgical environment, supporting various types of surgical cases, including ENT, orthopedics, urology, and general surgeries. The position offers day shifts with scheduled weekend and holiday call responsibilities.

Shift: Days
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
Start Date: 09/08/2026
Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification, a minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room nursing.
Preferred Qualifications: Scrub experience in ENT and orthopedic procedures.
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: General, gynecology, urology, ENT, vascular, spinal, dental, complex cases.
Support within the Department: Unit secretary, charge nurse with assignment duties, resource nurse, 24/7 availability of respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists.
Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record system, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing system.
Orientation: Hospital orientation plus one shift on the unit.
Floating: May float to various units within the facility to support staffing needs, including CST, surgical assist, and anesthesia tech roles, based on operational demands.
Other Notes: Scrub color provided, free parking available.
Additional Information: Support staff including nurses, RTs, hospitalists, and intensivists ensures a comprehensive perioperative environment. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced surgical setting with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
