Description
Job Summary:
Psychiatric Unit Nurse in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves providing specialized mental health care to adult patients in a behavioral health facility. The role requires managing complex patient cases, supporting a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in a challenging environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification obtained on site; at least 6 months of relevant experience; valid nursing license in the state of Kentucky
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult behavioral health, strong de-escalation skills, comfort with physical holds, ability to recognize increased agitation proactively, experience managing multiple escalated patients simultaneously
- Float: Float to other units including pediatric and adult units, with schedule and shift flexibility required
- Additional Information:
- Patients primarily include adults with diagnoses such as depression and anxiety; some patients may display high-risk behaviors or aggressive tendencies
- Unit equipped with restraint beds, restraint chairs, video monitors, and a nurses station enclosed for safety
- Support staff includes therapists, case managers, security, and dedicated code response resources
- Orientation provided onsite; scrubs to be worn are galaxy blue; parking is free
- The assignment begins on 08/31/2026, with up to 5 days of approved return to off days
