Description
Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Burn specialization opportunity in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team on an 11-bed acuity adaptable unit in a Level One Trauma Center and the state's only ACS-verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center. The position requires providing compassionate care to adult and pediatric patients with complex burn wounds and critical care needs.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts working between hours of 0700-1930, with every other weekend and some holidays. Will accept 4x12-hour shifts if traveler is interested.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)*, at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty submitted to, prior ICU experience, Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience, telemetry test passed before start, and experience in managing ports, arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilated patients, central lines, and complex wound/burn care.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level II experience, burn ICU experience, pediatric burn care experience, neuro ICU experience, and experience with complex wound or burn units.
- Travel Experience Required: Yes
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS*
- Additional Information:
Travelers must pass a telemetry test with strict criteria and have in-depth knowledge of cardiac rhythms and pediatric as well as adult cardiac monitoring. The assignment begins on 09/14/2026 at the University Hospital in Madison, WI. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum inpatient RN experience is two years of acute care within the last three years in the specialty. Parking permits through UW Transportation are required for onsite parking, with other transportation options available.
