Description
Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing family-centered, critically ill child care in a state-of-the-art pediatric medical and surgical center. The RN will work in a high-acuity environment caring for neonatal, infant, adolescent, and pediatric patients with complex conditions, including neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and transplant cases.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with minimum of 36 hours per week, starting from 09/14/2026 and ending on 12/14/2026.
- Required Qualifications: WI RN or compact RN license, 3 years of recent acute care experience in pediatric ICU, strong Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience, CVICU experience, at least 1 year of cardiovascular (CV) experience, EPIC electronic health record system experience, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, PALS (American Heart Association) certification, pass Telemetry interpretation test prior to start.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level II high acuity hospital, strong neonatal and general pediatric ICU experience, additional level II trauma experience preferred.
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 for Neonates, 1:2 for Pediatrics, 1:2 for Adolescents.
- Additional Information: The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and interpretation services. The facility treats cardiac, respiratory, neurological, neuro/ Neurosurgical conditions, and transplant patients, with specialized procedures such as ECMO, CRRT, VAD, and advanced monitoring. The RN will be required to float as needed within the unit, and local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted.
