Job Summary
Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a specialized medical environment focused on medically complex rehabilitation patients, including those with cardiac monitoring needs, LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wounds, CAPD, and vents. The role requires providing patient care in a non-traditional hospital setting, with responsibilities involving close monitoring and management of intricate clinical protocols, primarily during 12-hour night shifts. The position demands a dedicated professional capable of supporting float rotations between acute care units as needed.
Job Details
- Shift Time: Nights, 12 hours (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: Every other weekend is required
- Required Qualifications: RN certification with a minimum of 2 years of experience; cardiac monitoring experience and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification are required; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is also required; prior travel experience is preferred
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with respiratory/vented patients is strongly preferred
- Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including familiarity with complex patient care and protocols for IV starts, drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound care, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, central line dressing, wound measurement; experience with respiratory/vented patients highly preferred
- Additional Information: Nurses will be responsible for clinical procedures based on unit protocols. They will not manage ventilators, as RTs handle vent management. The role involves float duties to similar units within the facility, with shifts potentially split between different units. Candidates must maintain profiles that are clean and thoroughly documented to facilitate efficient interview and offer processes.
