Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart specialist position available in a large, academic, teaching hospital setting. The role involves providing specialized surgical support for cardiovascular and open heart procedures, with a focus on high competency and recent experience in a similar environment. Job Details

• Position Description: Assignment for 16-26 weeks with tiered rates based on mileage measured by direct line.
• Shift Schedule: Rotating shiftseither 4 ten-hour days from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM or 3 twelve-hour days from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, including one full weekend of call every five weeks. Must be flexible with schedule to meet unit and patient needs.
• Qualifications: BLS certification required, CNOR preferred. Prior travel experience required. Must have general experience and a minimum of 2 years OR RN experience with recent high competency in cardiovascular/open heart procedures. Epic experience from within the past 2 years is mandatory.
• Additional Requirements: Must be able to float to other operating room suites (general, ortho, neuro, ENT, etc). Circulating role required when floated.
• Work Environment: Experience in a large (500+ beds), academic, teaching hospital is required.
• Schedule: Monday to Sunday with no block schedules. Bi-weekly orientation on Mondays.
• Travel and Transportation: IVS to offer; reliable transportation is required as public transportation is not accessible. Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November to April.
• Start and End Dates: October 5, 2026, to April 4, 2027.
• Additional Notes: All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained. Complete work history (bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.) is required to submit.
