Job Summary
The healthcare provider is seeking an ICU Float Registered Nurse for night shifts in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area. This position involves providing critical care in a dynamic ICU environment, with responsibilities including titrating critical drips and interpreting telemetry. The role requires flexibility to float within multiple units across Zone 1, which encompasses several local facilities.

Job Details

  • Position: ICU Float Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Float
  • Location: Colorado Springs, CO (Zone 1 coverage area)
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licenses, current BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certifications; minimum of 2 years ICU experience required; Epic electronic medical record system experience preferred; must be comfortable titrating critical drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, insulin.
  • Additional Information:
    • Must have 2 years of ICU experience; first-time travel candidates should have 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience.
    • No home facility; must float within Zone 1 covering multiple facilities including Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center.
    • Float rotation may be required across ICU, Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown, and Medical Telemetry (MS-Tele).
    • Will participate in a 1-2 day orientation with a preceptor.
    • Shifts may be scheduled at a single facility for the week or assigned just-in-time 1-2 hours prior to shift start.
    • Candidates should submit a two-week notice to avoid back out penalties.
    • The first float assignment will be communicated on or before the Monday start date.
    • Must be in state for week of orientation and can make up shifts at the front and back end of the assignment.
    • No facility names are included; roles and responsibilities are based around the Colorado Springs, CO zone.
