This position involves providing high-quality care on a Medical Surgical unit within an acute care setting. The role encompasses a variety of medical conditions and surgical services, requiring current clinical experience and the ability to adapt to unit transitions and system updates.

• Responsibilities include delivering direct patient care, troubleshooting respiratory equipment, and managing a diverse patient load including surgical and medical diagnoses such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and GI conditions.
• Unit Notes: Transitioning to EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in 11/2026; nurse-patient ratios are 1:6; care duties exclude use of telemonitoring beyond troubleshooting; float to Med/Surg patient care units may be required.
• Charting System: Cerner (transitioning to EPIC in 11/2026)
• Additional Information: Unit has a nurse:patient ratio that varies; charge nurse also takes an assignment; no tele-monitor techs; respiratory support readily available; cancelation policy allows up to 4 shifts in a 13-week period; orienting staff for 3 shifts.
