Job Summary
Medical Surgical Float Nurse in Oregon This position involves floating between the medical care unit, post surgical unit, and intermediate care unit within the healthcare provider. The role requires applying nursing processes, providing patient education, documenting care, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver effective patient care.

Job Details

  • Position Description: FLOAT RN- Will be required to float to the medical care unit, post surgical unit, and Intermediate Care Unit. Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, applies the nursing process to the care of patients. Teaches patients and significant others. Documents patient care in the medical record. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient.
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA).
  • Licenses: Oregon license (willingness to obtain required).
  • Experience: Recent hospital experience within the past 5 years; 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience required; 2 years of Med Surg experience required.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Flexibility in accepting assignments to varied areas; friendly, helpful attitude. Demonstrates effective teaching skills. Responds effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations. Maintains regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the job location. Will be required to float within the Medical Care Unit, Post Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit/PCU.
  • Submission Requirements: Recent hospital experience within the past 5 years; certifications (BLS, ACLS); Oregon license (or willingness to obtain).
