Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse, located in the area, is responsible for providing compassionate, high-quality patient care within a busy acute care setting. This role involves managing post-operative recovery patients and medical-surgical cases, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes for a diverse patient population.

Job Details

• Specialty: Medical Surgical Floor
• Certification: BLS Certification required
• Education/Degree: BSN preferred, licensure to submit required
• Location Requirement: Must hold a valid nursing license to submit
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent post-operative recovery experience; first-time travelers are welcome
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with every other weekend requirement and holiday rotation
• Float: Float rotation may be required for ICU or Telemetry to take Medical Surgical overflow, limited to scope of practice
• Responsibilities include monitoring post-operative patients with diagnoses such as general, orthopedic, podiatry, and general medical conditions including DM PN, CHF COPD, cellulitis, and others.
• Will be trained in answering phones and call lights; no IV or Foley removal required
• Equipment: BiPAP, High Flow, Vapotherm for respiratory management
• Orientation: Department-specific, consisting of two 12-hour shifts onsite, including meetings with HR, education, and preceptorship, followed by independent shifts
