This position involves providing compassionate and high-quality care to laboring patients in a dedicated Womens Services unit. The role supports patient-centered birth experiences, utilizing advanced skills and teamwork within a 24/7 laborist model environment.

Job Details

• Location: Smyrna, TN
• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN license, ACLS, BLS, NRP certifications, 0 years of experience.
• Unit specifics include a 9-bed Labor & Delivery unit with 3 swing rooms, 2 operating rooms, and a 3-bed OB Emergency Department.
• Responsibilities involve circulating in the operating room, supporting procedures such as intrauterine pressure catheters, fetal scalp electrodes, magnesium sulfate administration, postpartum hemorrhage management, nitrous oxide use, and documentation in JADA system.
• The team includes a unit secretary and scrub tech, with in-house 24/7 CRNA and midwife coverage, focusing on personalized birth experiences and patient needs.
• Staff promote vaginal birth opportunities, support patient choice, and utilize advanced techniques like Spinning Babies and STABLE.
• Additional unit amenities feature an 8-bed Level 2 NICU with a Nurse Neonatologist Practitioner (NNP) on-site 24/7, and high-risk delivery support attended by NNP as needed.
