The organization is seeking an ORT (Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician) in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves supporting obstetric surgical procedures, including C-section cases, and providing CNA-level support in a birthing center environment. Job Details

• Position Description:
  Support obstetric and surgical procedures, primarily C-section cases, with an average of 3-4 cases daily. Assist with patient transport, provide CNA duties such as vital signs, ambulation, baby baths, stocking, and assist in circumcision procedures. Responsible for scrub duties using hospital-provided teal scrubs and assist with hemorrhage control utilizing the Jada system. Work involves assisting in the obstetric operating room and supporting the labor and delivery unit.

• Required Qualifications:
  Certifications: BLS, CST license required (NBSTSA or NCCT accepted); AHA or ARC certifications required.
  Education Requirements: Knowledge of surgical standards, graduation from a surgical technologist program.
  Location Requirements: Must be able to work in Wisconsin.
  Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years in an OB setting; will accept first-time travelers with 2 years of experience.
  Other: High school diploma required.

• Schedule:
  Rotating shifts including Day/Evening (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and PM (3:00 PM - 3:00 AM), with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

• Additional Information:
  No float rotation required. This position includes assisting with C-section and vaginal deliveries, supporting various OB unit tasks, and working with EPIC charting. The contract offers up to 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, with travelers potentially called back during this time and eligible for callback pay. The position begins on 09/21/2026 and ends on 12/19/2026, requiring resilience, a strong work ethic, and good social skills.
