Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse position is located in a healthcare facility offering 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with advanced pulmonary conditions, including pneumonia and COPD, on a 32-bed unit. Responsibilities include managing IV pumps, teleremote monitoring, trachs, bipap, cpap, drips, infusions, phlebotomy, starting IVs, transports, and assisting with ICU transfers and oxygen weaning. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience in the specialty.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour days, 36 hours per week, minimum
• Required Qualifications: Valid NYS license, BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross); can be obtained prior to start date if necessary; completed Nursys within 6 months; minimum of 2 years' experience in Medical Surgical with Telemetry; prior travel experience preferred but not required
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified
• Float: Float rotation may be required, with travelers first to float to like units
• Additional Information: No block scheduling; RTO with no more than 4 days' notice, no holiday RTO; no call required; scheduled based on facility needs; orientation sessions occur once a month, next on 10/26; unit has a patient population of 50-100, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-7, primarily surgical and medical patients requiring advanced pulmonary nursing care, IV management, and transport support.
