Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse located in Reno, NV. This position involves providing comprehensive patient care within a Level II Trauma OR. The role requires delivering safe and effective perioperative nursing services in a fast-paced, high-volume environment serving a diverse patient population.
Job Details
- Schedule: Weekend shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), 0645-1915, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: NV State Registered Nurse (RN) license prior to start, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), current CMP (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification completed within 1 year of start date, 2 years experience in Trauma Operating Room setting, prior travel experience of one 13-week assignment, minimum of 2+ years of Trauma OR circulating experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Neurosurgery (ACDF, spinal fusions, cranioprocedures), Da Vinci Xi robotic surgeries, and pediatric trauma procedures is advantageous
- Additional Information: This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level II Trauma OR comprising 18 operating rooms serving patients from neonates to geriatrics. The nurse will coordinate care for complex cases including trauma, neurosurgery, urology, vascular, orthopedic, and ENT surgeries. The environment is extremely busy and fast-paced, requiring high mental effort and quick decision-making to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. The hospital is a regional Level II Trauma Center with stroke accreditation and advanced surgical technologies.
