Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse in Madison, Wisconsin This position involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients in a high-acuity environment. The role requires delivering compassionate, quality-focused care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details
- The position involves evening/night, 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
- Required qualifications include an RN license, BLS, and PALS certifications, with a minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the PICU specialty.
- The role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience, including pediatric ICU experience, with at least 1 year of recent pediatric ICU experience.
- Completion of two years of acute care experience within the last three years, along with experience in inpatient nursing and pediatric critical care.
- Responsibilities include managing ventilated patients, administering blood and blood products, and utilizing various monitoring and procedural skills such as End-Tidal CO2, ICP monitoring, and PICC line management.
- The schedule includes 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week minimum.
- The candidate must pass a telemetry test prior to start, with specific scoring criteria, and demonstrate proficiency in cardiac rhythm identification.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system is required.
- The candidate must have the ability to float to general pediatric units as needed.
