Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor Nurse Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients undergoing joint replacement surgeries from pre-operative education through recovery. This role involves coordinating patient care, educating patients and families, and collaborating with medical staff to ensure effective treatment and support throughout the surgical process.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with opportunity to start later on some days.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California; Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards; Previous program development and implementation experience with a minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience; Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) Disease-Specific and other regulatory requirements.
- Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience in orthopedics.
- Preferred Skills: "JOINT REPLACEMENT POPULATION CARE", "IN-PATIENT PROCESSES/PROTOCOLS", "DISEASE PROCESS", "RISK FACTOR IDENTIFICATION", "PATIENT AND FAMILY EDUCATION"
- Additional Information: Demonstrates ability to utilize equipment and software, such as Word and Excel; possesses strong interpersonal, coordination, and problem-solving skills; and maintains excellent communication skills. Experience in orthopedic nursing is preferred, along with certification from the Orthopaedic Nurses Certification Board or similar specialty certification.
