Description
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician position is located within a healthcare organization. This role involves supporting sterile processing operations and assisting in surgical settings. The position requires working primarily evening shifts with rotating days off, and involves handling duties related to sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments and equipment.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: 4x10 evening shifts from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM with rotating days off; call every 7-8 weeks, totaling 48 hours (24 hours Saturday and Sunday).
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS (AHA), CBSPD or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), and verification via the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). A minimum of 1 year of experience in sterile processing utilizing ultrasonic, decontamination, assembly, and VPro is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with common cases such as orthopedics, spine, robotic, general surgery, urology, gynecology, and ENT; familiarity with EPIC charting system.
- Additional Information: No floating requirement; blue (ceil) scrub attire; self-scheduling for holidays and call; organization can cancel up to four shifts within a 13-week period.
