Description
Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position in a facility setting. This role involves providing high-quality patient care on a mixed acuity unit that handles trauma, strokes, spinal cord injuries, burns, and pediatric cases. The ideal candidate will have experience with high acuity rehab and competent skills in ventilator management, wound care, IV therapy, and advanced pulmonary patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, with a cycle every 6 weeks and minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, with at least 1 year of relevant experience in a high-acuity medical-surgical environment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for trauma, neurological, and pediatric patients; proficiency with vent management, PICC, central lines, wound care, TPN, drains/tubes, and pulmonary care including trachs, laryngectomies, and G-tubes.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within scope of practice, utilizing a designated float pool.
- Additional Information: Orientation will include online modules, NVCI in-person training, and hospital-specific training. Staffing ratios are approximately 1:6-7 for patients, with RN-to-PCA/CNA ratios of 1:7-8. The unit uses EMR Cerner, Plum 360 IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing. Travel is expected to include some holiday work, with schedule flexibility for approved time off. Scrub color is galaxy blue, and free parking with badge access is provided.
