Job Summary
The Emergency Room Pediatric (ER PEDS) registered nurse is based at a medical campus location and provides specialized pediatric emergency care within the emergency department. This role involves supporting patients with complex psychiatric, psychological, and medical needs, including those requiring medical stabilization and behavioral health interventions, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Job Details

• Position Description: Emergency Room Pediatric RN assigned to a major medical campus, supporting pediatric emergency patients with behavioral health needs, including psychiatric emergencies and medical stabilization.
• Required Qualifications: Active registered nurse (RN) license; BSN degree; minimum of one (1) year of professional nursing experience; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ability to become certified in Safety Care, including movement from seated to standing assistance.
• Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36.0 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in acute care, behavioral health, or medically complex settings; prior clinical experience with eating disorder populations in inpatient, residential, or partial-hospitalization settings; competency with NG tube placement, monitoring, and maintenance; background in medical, med-surg, or acute care including vital sign monitoring and medical stabilization; trauma-informed, patient-centered care; effective interdisciplinary collaboration; strong communication skills; flexibility and adaptability; experience with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation proficiency.
• Additional Information: The role requires float rotation in accordance with organizational policies, supporting a variety of clinical areas within thirty-five miles of the assigned facility. No request for time off (RTO) is approved within the first two weeks of the assignment. Medical and religious exemption requests for the seasonal influenza vaccination are permitted.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must be prepared to support pediatric psychiatric emergency patients with demonstrated competency and adherence to safety protocols.
