Job Summary
Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician ORT Location unspecified. This role involves supporting surgical procedures by maintaining sterile environments, preparing operating rooms and instruments, and assisting surgeons during operations. The position works under supervision and contributes to patient safety and operational efficiency within the surgical services team.

Job Details

• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam), or two years of scrub tech experience in hospital or military surgical services within the last three years.
• Certifications & Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers; active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery or Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Demonstrates the ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sterile processing, surgical services, and sharps and fire safety processes.
• Demonstrates the ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations and support life support activities related to surgical care.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes and requirements, with experience in supervision within surgical services (within ORT scope).
• Schedule: Days, 12-hour shift, 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday, no set day off. Weekend call and holiday shifts are required.
• Experience requirement: 0 years minimum.
• Submission of certifications and license documentation are required upon application submission.
