Labor and Delivery Nurse L&D Various Locations
This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a Level IV Women & Infants Hospital setting. The role encompasses assisting with deliveries, high risk patient management, and adherence to AWHONN guidelines, with responsibilities including medication administration and fetal monitoring.
Job Details
- Position Description: Seeking a Level IV trained Labor & Delivery nurse for a new 15-bed L&D unit, a 20-bed High Risk Unit, and an 8-bed OB Triage. Responsibilities include managing Magnesium, insulin drips, advanced neonatal resuscitation, and external fetal monitoring. The nurse may float to a secondary facility if needed.
- Required Qualifications: License: Nursys License; Certifications: Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; Education Requirements: Nursing degree; Location Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the location; Experience: 0 years.
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, including every third weekend and holiday rotation. Orient two shifts.
- Additional Information: The unit operates with a staffing model adhering to American Womens Hospital Nurses of Nursing (AWHONN) guidelines1:1 in active labor and two patients in early, latent labor. The role includes serving as a charge nurse in both L&D and high risk units, and providing baby nurse duties during deliveries.
