Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Location: Area within a 60-mile radius of the designated zone. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, treating an average of 100 patients per day. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment supporting a diverse patient population.

Job Details

  • Position Description: ER nurse supporting acute care within a Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Center. The role includes working nights on 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the AHA, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). Healthcare professionals must have at least 2 years of experience in emergency nursing, with current licensure to practice in the state.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: The ER deals with common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, and stroke. The team includes charge nurses, techs supporting triage, and 24/7 availability of respiratory therapists who perform ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs. RN staff are expected to interpret telemetry strips and perform point-of-care lab testing after training. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5 based on acuity. The facility allows self-scheduling and may require floating within a designated zone.
