Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in Tacoma, WA. This position involves providing critical care services primarily within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with the potential to float to Intensive Care Units across the region. The role requires experienced nursing professionals capable of managing complex patient needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Job Details

  • Location: Tacoma, WA

  • Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Certification Requirements: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience, valid license to submit, willing to wait for licensure.
  • Responsibilities include delivering critical patient care, managing ventilators and drips (excluding pressors in PCU), and working within an Electronic Medical Record system (EPIC).
  • The position is primarily based in a hospital with a patient census of 82 beds, featuring medical ICU and progressive care units, with variations in patient acuity, and requires float to other regional hospitals within the organization.
  • Orientation: One week with an educator, at minimum two shifts.
  • Additional notes: No Vents in PCU; specific drips include cardizem, nitro, insulin, heparin; no IABP or CRRT experience required; candidates must have at least two years of experience in their specialty.
