Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse - Location: unspecified. This role involves providing urgent care in a high-volume emergency department, treating a diverse patient population with common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain. The position requires a focus on efficient patient assessment and intervention, adhering to established clinical protocols.

- Position: Emergency Room (ER) Nurse

- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; minimum of 2 years of ER experience; current licensure to submit; licensed in the state where the facility is located; ability to work scheduled shifts from 1p-1a or 3p-3a, including weekends and holidays.
- Additional Information: Candidates should be proficient in managing common drips such as cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesic medications. The ER handles an average of over 75 patients daily, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. On-site equipment includes Vents, Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow devices, with RNs expected to troubleshoot these devices. RT services are available 24/7, with staff responsible for bedside troubleshooting and initial assessments. The department uses EPIC electronic charting system, and self-scheduling is permitted, with a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week cycle. The facility has a Level III Trauma designation and is a comprehensive Stroke Center, with no involvement from unit managers in the initial hiring process. Orientation occurs in the week prior to the start date, with potential to float within Zone 1 based on operational needs.
