The Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) position is based in an acute care facility. The role involves supporting surgical procedures across various specialties, primarily orthopedic, general, gynecology, pediatric, and eye cases. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting with high-volume cases while adhering to strict safety and sterilization protocols.

Job Details

• Position Title: Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT)
• Location: Not specified, within an acute care setting
• Certifications/Education: BLS Certification, CST; 2 years of OR experience required and sterile processing certification through IAHCSMM
• Experience Requirements: 2 years of operating room experience; travel experience preferred
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts with variable start times, 40 hours per week, days shift
• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), BLS Certification, minimum of 2 years OR experience, CST certification through IAHCSMM, valid license to submit
• Special Notes: Scrubbing for RN staff is preferred but not required; support includes high-volume orthopedic, general, gynecology, pediatric, and eye cases; cardiac cases are excluded from assignments for travelers
• Additional Information: Sterile Processing Tech must have BLS and be certified through IAHCSMM; hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment; orientation depends on skillset; no float rotation required
