Job Summary
Telemetry Nurse (RN) Telehealth, the organizations healthcare provider, is seeking experienced Telemetry nurses for night shifts at the medical center. The position involves caring for patients from the emergency department who are waiting on beds within the hospital, with a strong focus on cardiac telemetry. Candidates will be responsible for decreasing cardiac drips per physicians' orders and interpreting strips, ensuring patient safety and quality care.
Job Details
- Certifications and Education Requirements: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); Valid license to submit; minimum experience of 2 years in telemetry nursing.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7 PM 7 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week; ability to self-schedule, with shift rotations including 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule and holiday rotations.
- Responsibilities include caring for patients awaiting placement, interpreting EKG strips, and managing titratable cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone.
- The Telemetry unit does not utilize vents or monitor techs; RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting strips.
- Nurses will be expected to float to other units (medical/surgical/telemetry/overflow) and assist with ED patients as needed, but will not be primary nurses for ED patients.
- Orientation includes 2 shifts on Med/Surg/Tele at the primary campus.
