Job Summary
Surgical Technician, Operating Room (OR) Tech in a healthcare facility. This position involves assisting surgeons during various surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and performing clerical tasks related to surgical supplies and documentation. The role requires adaptability to occasional float to the same-campus outpatient procedure area and call responsibilities.

Job Details

  • Certifications: BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider; Surgical Technician Certification (TS-C, CST, or NRST) required to be eligible for incentive.
  • Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military training as a scrub tech.
  • Years of Experience: At least 1 year of recent relevant experience.
  • Location Requirements: Not specified.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Responsibilities include assisting in a variety of surgical procedures, establishing and maintaining sterile fields, preparing supplies and equipment, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and performing routine clerical tasks related to patient records and inventory.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and compliant environment, adhering to all safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including confidentiality of protected health information.
  • Works independently and with team members to prioritize and complete assignments efficiently.
  • May occasionally float to the same-campus outpatient surgical center (HOPD/ASC).
  • Must be able to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment involving Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, and Geriatrics, with approximately 50-60 procedures daily.
  • Submissions require current licensure, certifications, and references within the last year.
