Description

Job Summary
The healthcare provider is seeking an Emergency Room (ER) Nurse for a position in the emergency department. This role involves delivering patient care to a diverse patient population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients, with a focus on managing common diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. The position is scheduled for day shifts with a block schedule and requires float rotation.

Job Details

  • Location: Not specified; based in a healthcare facilitys emergency department
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications; NY License verification with active RN licenses; documentation of travel experience; at least 2 years of emergency department experience, including some pediatric experience; EMR experience in EPIC; valid drivers license matching demographic address
  • Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience highly preferred; experience with rapid infusor and Arctic Sun specialty equipment; ability to float to various units as required
  • Additional Information: The facility has 64 beds, including 2 triage beds, 40 acute care beds, 6 super track beds, 2 trauma beds, 10 clinical decision unit beds, and 6 psychiatric beds. The ED handles diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to all assigned patients, including SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) cases, with common equipment including rapid infusor and Arctic Sun.
