Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry. This position provides nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across medical, surgical, oncology, neurology, renal, and cardiology units. The role requires telemetry expertise, intravenous access skills, clinical flexibility, and participation in an overnight schedule with weekend and holiday rotation.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; experience starting and maintaining intravenous lines; telemetry experience; competency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, central line care and management, feeding tube care and management, high-flow nasal cannula, arterial blood gas interpretation, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment, patient-controlled analgesia, surgical drains, wound care, wound vacuum therapy, rapid response and code team procedures, and telemetry remote monitoring.
• Preferred Qualifications: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; experience with cerebrovascular accident care and total joint replacement patients.
• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week. Every other weekend or at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule is required, along with holiday rotation.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Patient ratios are 1:56 on days and weekends and 1:6 on nights. The role supports adult and geriatric patients and includes use of lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanners; training on lift devices is provided. The position requires flexibility to float across the applicable medical service lines.
