Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical with Telemetry Philadelphia, PA. The position provides high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic medical conditions across Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units. The role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and expertise in cardiac monitoring, complex patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Two years of nursing experience; prior travel nursing experience; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patient care, stroke and cardiac patient management, orthopedic care, complex medical conditions and multiple comorbidities, telemetry monitoring and interpretation, post-operative care, bariatric surgery patients, and Aquablation procedures.
• Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The position supports care across Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units for adult and geriatric patients. Common clinical responsibilities include respiratory management, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) management, tracheostomy care, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead electrocardiogram acquisition, blood product administration, feeding tube management, patient-controlled analgesia pumps, peripherally inserted central catheter and central line care, surgical drain management, wound vacuum therapy, and intravenous medication and drip administration. Experience with amiodarone, diltiazem, milrinone, nitroglycerin, heparin, and titrated medications is beneficial. Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, stroke, sepsis, and congestive heart failure. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 based on patient acuity and unit needs. No call is required.
