Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across all LDRP roles within the same shift, including labor and delivery, postpartum couplet care, and well/sick nursery stabilization
• Monitor and interpret electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) strips independently, identifying major and life-threatening rhythms using Corometric monitors and Fetal Link system
• Administer and manage IV drips including Pitocin, Mag Sulfate, antibiotics, and occasional insulin via infusion device
• Stabilize high-acuity or sick neonates prior to transport, with transport times averaging approximately three hours
• Receive newborns during cesarean sections; OR team manages scrubbing, circulating, and recovery
• Participate in flexible scheduling to fill staffing gaps and float as a helping hand to other units (Med/Surg, ER, LTC) when OB census is low, returning immediately for laboring patients

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with demonstrated LDRP experience, including the ability to function in L&D, postpartum, and sick-baby nursery roles
• Minimum one year of true LDRP experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (Advanced FHM required in Nevada for Cytotec administration)
• Comfort with caring for sick neonates prior to transport in a setting without an on-site neonatologist

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner Community Works EMR
• Experience working in a small or critical access hospital environment where a team-based, self-directed approach is standard
• Comfort operating without a dedicated charge nurse on the unit and without on-site neonatology or 24/7 in-house anesthesia
