Travel RN – PCU Nurse Educator

Location

Asheville, North Carolina

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 8-Week Assignment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned clinical education content to impacted staff, including core staff, travelers, contract labor, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide unit-based rounding, real-time reinforcement, and just-in-time coaching to staff across shifts
  • Validate staff understanding and competency as required, and document education completion accurately and in a timely manner
  • Identify barriers to education completion and escalate concerns to Clinical Education leadership
  • Support night shift, weekend, and hard-to-reach colleague education as needed
  • Assist with focused re-education when audit findings or practice observations indicate additional support is needed

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Background in acute care, critical care, or procedural nursing
  • Strong communication, coaching, and teaching skills
  • Ability to work independently while following established education plans and content
  • Flexibility to support varying schedules, including days, nights, and weekends

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Previous experience in nursing education, clinical teaching, competency validation, nurse residency or transition-to-practice programs, preceptor development, skills validation, or staff onboarding and orientation
  • Familiarity with high-risk education, regulatory readiness, quality and safety initiatives, or survey response work
  • Experience using education tracking tools, dashboards, LMS platforms, or competency checklists
  • Prior PCU or step-down unit clinical experience
