Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and plan, implement, and adjust individualized treatment programs based on evaluation results and patient/family goals.
- Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, discharge planning, and coordination of patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
- Complete all required documentation including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with department policies and timelines.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT/COTA students in the application of occupational therapy theory and techniques; assist with new staff orientation.
- Promote patient and employee safety across key areas including safe patient handling, infection control, materials handling, and fall prevention.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members; demonstrate a customer service-oriented attitude and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of Arizona.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines governing occupational therapy practice.
- Ability to supervise COTAs, students, and other staff members competently.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation or post-acute care setting.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes including equipment recommendations, caregiver training, and placement coordination.
- Strong documentation skills with experience meeting productivity and compliance standards in a clinical environment.
