Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients across a wide range of ages and diagnoses, with a focus on pediatric outpatient care.
- Implement, supervise, and modify therapy plans of care based on ongoing assessment of patient response to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, referring providers, and families to coordinate care, arrange appropriate medical equipment, and establish discharge plans.
- Develop and deliver patient and family education programs, including clear home exercise programs with return demonstration to ensure understanding.
- Document all patient encounter findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognoses in accordance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and direct the work of Physical Therapist Assistants, support staff, students, and interns as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska Physical Therapist license required at time of submission.
- Entry-level qualifying master's or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program; or graduate of an APTA-approved program at the master's or bachelor's level with 2 years of proven work and continuing education experience demonstrating doctoral-level knowledge.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Pediatric physical therapy experience required.
- Current flu vaccination required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in adult outpatient rehabilitation.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer billing procedures.
- Experience with durable medical equipment assessment, fitting, and delivery.
