Registered Nurse – IR / Special Procedures

Contract | Days | 9-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 36 hours per week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to outpatient and inpatient populations in an Interventional Radiology setting, including critical care and telemetry patients
- Assist with body IR procedures including chemo embolization, Y-90, GJ tube placements, IVC filters, vascular access, angiograms, CT biopsies, ablations, ultrasound biopsies, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
- Operate within a multi-modality environment encompassing angio rooms, CT scanners, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine
- Perform and maintain competency in sterile field techniques, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Collaborate with IR techs, CT techs, nuclear medicine techs, ultrasound techs, and support staff including VAT and SWAT IV teams
- Fulfill occasional weekend coverage approximately one to two Saturdays per month, with possible holiday requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with IR nursing experience, or ICU RN with documented IR experience
- Neuro IR experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted)
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience managing ventilated and telemetry patients in an IR or critical care environment
- Familiarity with charge nurse responsibilities
- Demonstrated competency in sterile field maintenance for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
