Travel RN – Medical Surgical Telemetry (Night Shift / 13-Week Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 47-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5 (up to 1:6)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and respond appropriately to cardiac arrhythmias and changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with conditions including vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, general surgery, peripheral vascular disease, sepsis, atherosclerosis, GI bleeds, chest tubes, and arrhythmias
• Operate unit equipment including Pyxis, Alaris Pumps, Bladder Scanners, EKGs, Atrium Chest Tubes, Dinamaps, and Vein Finders
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Float to similar Med-Surg units or other areas of the facility as needed for patient overflow

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Demonstrated telemetry experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with surgical bariatrics or cardiac care
• Background in vascular surgery nursing
• Proficiency with wound vac and complex dressing changes
