Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location
Oklahoma City, OK

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for IMC and medical-surgical stepdown patients with a focus on cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery
- Manage a patient ratio of 4:1, adjusted based on acuity per safe staffing matrix
- Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF exacerbation, dysrhythmias (Afib/Aflutter, SVT, Vtach), STEMI/NSTEMI, pre- and post-operative cardiothoracic surgery (CABG, femoral bypass, thoracotomy, VATS, CEA), pacemaker management, and hemo/pneumothorax
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG findings; respond appropriately to cardiac changes
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Float within scope to other units or sister facilities as needed to meet census demands
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license in applicable state (no pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum of 2 years of IMC, medical-surgical stepdown, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, or cardiothoracic surgery experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Completed EKG course and/or telemetry competency test
- NIHSS certification required
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the contracted facility (local candidates are not eligible)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cath Lab patient populations including STEMI/NSTEMI and coronary artery disease
- Familiarity with temporary and external pacemaker management
- Prior experience charting in Epic
