Travel Physical Therapist – Outpatient (Days)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Day Shift (10:30 AM – 6:00 PM) | Projected Start: 07/27/2026
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients prior to treatment by reviewing medical history, physician orders, and performing objective measurements relative to diagnosis and condition; establish goals and plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
- Administer and direct physical therapy treatments and modalities including therapeutic exercises, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, gait training, balance training, soft tissue mobilization, and functional mobility training.
- Monitor patient progress, maintain contact with referring physicians, and recommend treatment modifications as indicated.
- Develop and instruct patients and families on home exercise programs, ensuring understanding through return demonstrations.
- Direct and supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants during treatment sessions; co-sign progress notes for PT Assistants with temporary licensure and complete discharge summaries.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient treatments including subjective and objective findings, assessment, and plan; ensure charges correlate with treatment session documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate, Master's, Bachelor's, or Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure (required prior to start).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience.
- Strong assessment, evaluation, decision-making, and time management skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams on quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
