Travel RN – Stepdown / PCU (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 9-Week Assignment | Projected Start: June 29, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting under established nursing standards and protocols
- Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered, documenting accurately in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge planning
- Maintain compliance with all facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or Intermediate Care (IMC) setting
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS may be required
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills appropriate for intermediate-acuity patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a Stepdown or PCU environment
- Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
- Experience in a high-volume regional referral or trauma center setting
