Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
- Design functional treatment programs focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay and facilitating effective return to community activities.
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals.
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations as assigned.
- Adhere to the applicable State Practice Act and all regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Arizona.
- Experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation, goal writing, and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans using sound clinical reasoning.
- Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and safe patient handling practices.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students in a clinical setting.
- Active involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations.
- Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality of care initiatives.
