Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Trauma, Orthopedic, and Surgical unit with a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Care for a high volume of post-operative transplant and Whipple patients, as well as spine, orthopedic joint, and trauma cases
- Monitor and interpret telemetry using Philips monitoring systems; manage patients on BiPAP and CPAP
- Perform and maintain competency in sterile procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Float as needed to Observation, VMU, and Medical/Surgical Telemetry units
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Must pass a dysrhythmia examination prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted)
- Must demonstrate competency in sterile field technique; SIMs Lab assessment on Day 1 of orientation is pass/fail
- Must meet facility appearance standards including natural hair color, no facial piercings, and clean-shaven for respiratory fit testing
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with post-operative transplant or complex surgical patients such as Whipple procedures
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR in an acute care setting
- Experience floating across Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units in a large acute care environment
